Turakina Highland Games, 31st January 2026
Members enjoyed a great day out, another opportunity to meet old friends and welcome the new.
AGM and Gathering, Mosgiel 27th, 28th 29th March 2026
On the Friday night members enjoyed catching up with old friends, and meeting new ones at Black Sheep Bar and Restaurant
On Saturday afternoon, we rode on a bus supplied by the Otago Heritage Bus group, visiting the world famous Dunedin Railway Station, Toitu-Settlers Museum, Otago University and the world's steepest street, Baldwin Street. Yes, 2 adventurous members started the walk up, sadly we had to stop them due to time restraints :)
On Sunday morning a smaller group headed up the Otago Peninsula to Larnach's Castle, where the scotch mist descended to add to the atmosphere. The history and the restoration stories are amazing.

The Haggis ceremony and the dinner is always the event of the weekend. Iain Seatter once again entertained us with a ceremony like no other. Piper, Joel stood in for our usual piper who was not available. Nellie's Restaurant and Bar served a delicious dinner, then the varying singing talents of those present were displayed, led by Bill Ackiin on the keyboard.
Clan MacKenzie was represented at the Tartan Day, held at the Auckland War Museum, and the Kirkin o' the Tartan, held in St Andrew's Church over the weekend of 27th and 28th June. For more photos, go to our fb page Clan MacKenzie Society of NZ (Official Page), and look for our next newsletter due out soon.
